Brownsea Island

With fantastic weather this week why not come down and enjoy Brownsea Island. A ferry from either Sandbanks or Poole takes you across to this car free island. Looked after by The National Trust, it is tranquil, beautiful and gives a rare chance of seeing the Red Squirrel. Shy little squirrels hide in the treetops and watch us unsuspecting humans trying to see them.   The island is ideal for a day out exploring, take a pic nic and enjoy. There is also a lovely cafe and retail shop to visit. Stay over at The Rosscourt, see our website for special rates or give us a call 01202 397537 http://www.rosscourthotel.co.uk Image Enjoy

What is happening at Rosscourt bed and breakfast

Mr Rusty Rabbit has been out in the garden in his run. Unfortunately the fence, in the property behind us ,fell down in the storms. The management company were supposed to finish it last Friday but didn’t. Mr Rusty was very upset as Peter and had promised to let him have the run of the garden again but alas he has to wait.

Peter managed to mow the lawn today after picking up his new Ducati motorbike, he had to do something useful round the b and b as I drove him to Winchester from Bournemouth and then I came back on my own after having my painful dry socket from my tooth extraction packed. He did feel a little gulity

Finished all the decorating now so we look spick and span for opening in April. Look forward to seeing youImage

Great Day for walking

National Trust, Langton Matraves, Swanage BH19  have a 4 mile Coastal walk along Dancing Ledge and Scratch Arse Ware (yes that is the name of the area!!)    1.5 hours approximately with moderate gradient. Uneven and steep terrain with stiles and gates. Lots of cliff edges to be aware of . Sturdy shoes or boots are advised. Things to see Sycamore Tree may have been used as a hangmans tree. Scratch Arse Ware , the meaning behind the first part of this name is unclear although land for rough grazing is normally known as Ware . Limestone grassland here is managed for conservation without using fertilizers or chemicals. This allows a variety of wild flowers and gorse to grow ensuring plentiful supply of food for insects and wildlife.
